To begin with, Vincent is a very manipulative person. He likes to use people to get what he wants. He did this with Heather by essentially using her to get back at Claudia. He directed her to the amusement park to get to Claudia, instead of letting Heather put the clues together herself. At this point in the game, Heather wants to kill Claudia, which would suit Vincent's own desires. He has no qualms about using people to ends that suit him. He does this with The Order by using the donations he receives for himself, rather than for furthering the Order's purpose. He also will act in certain ways to get the result he wants.

Vincent is also exceptionally greedy. As stated above, he collects donations for the Order. While he did do some worthwhile things with it (such as have the chapel built, stated in his and Claudia's last conversation), he mostly used it for his own gain. There's a memo in game that stating this exact fact and a rumour that he was even extorting the members of the church. He seems to put the power of money on the same level as the power of God.

He is also a somewhat cruel person. He seems to lack a sense of empathy entirely. He openly mocks things to get a rise out of people. For example, in a conversation between him and Claudia, he mocks the religion she holds dear (and the one he is a priest of). He taunts her about her father and the abuse she suffered, all to make her angry and possibly to make her question her faith. He also doesn't hesitate to say that he wants both Heather and Claudia dead to get them out of his way because rebirthing God would make things inconvenient for him; he even says this directly to Claudia. He also takes a "y u mad, tho?" (for lack of a better phrase) response when people act offended about the things he says, as if he doesn't understand why they're angry at all. He makes a cruel joke about the monsters that Heather has been killing in Silent Hill, implying that they weren't monsters. He only admits it's a joke when Heather looks revolted at her own actions (this cutscene, at 2:30).

Vincent is intelligent and prides himself on his knowledge. He almost always shows up either reading a book or holding one. One of the things he seems to take great joy in is having information that someone else wants. He will only easily given information to someone if it suits his own purpose. A good example of this is his conversation with Heather at Jack's Inn. He only relays Douglas' message because it gets Heather closer to Claudia, therefore closer to them both being out of the way. If he doesn't want to give up the information, or seems to feel like they should be able to figure it out on their own, he taunts or mocks them. The first time Heather meets Vincent, he gives her little hints about her past and acts surprised when she doesn't know anything. He essentially just mocks her through the entire conversation because of her lack of knowledge, lording what he knows over her.

He is very self-serving and admits as such, adding "everyone does it" to the end as a way of rationalizing it. He feels that rebirthing God would be inconvenient to him, as it would interrupt his life. He is far more interested in continuing his study of the Otherworld (finding it fascinating, rather than frightening) and doesn't want his time to do it cut short. Getting both Claudia and Heather out of his way would prevent all of this inconvenience, but he'd rather have them kill each other instead of him having to get his hands dirty. He does everything to benefit himself; he has no sense altruism and isn't interested in helping anybody.

In terms of body language, Vincent is very animated when he speaks. He gestures quite a lot when he's speaking and with punctuate his words with hand motions. It also seems the more passionate he is about something, the more he gestures. This becomes more apparent in his later conversations with Heather as well as the hotel conversation with Claudia. In most conversations, he keeps a good distance between him and whoever he's speaking to. As he makes a stronger point, or is trying to get under the other person's skin, he closes the distance between them. He also has a fairly effeminate walk -- his hips sway as he walks.

Another side of Vincent is his relationship with Claudia, a fellow member of the Order. He seems to have a hatred for her, but this can also be read as a condescending attitude to her way of life. It's implied they were raised together, but Vincent grew to hate how fanatic Claudia became; he feels that Claudia was brainwashed by Dahlia Gillespie (who he calls a crazy old hag). He doesn't like it when Heather, as he says it, puts him on the same level as Claudia. The first time she says this, he corrects Heather with exasperation; the second time, however, he has a threatening and dark tone to his correction. In addition, he tells Heather that while Claudia and himself believe in the same god, they disagree fundamentally on many things. He feels that she's insane, calling her a madwoman as well as a crazy bitch. He also speaks to Claudia with more malice and cruelty than he does to anyone else he speaks to in the game.
